Community Accounting Aid and Services, Inc.

Community Accounting Aid and Services, Inc, (CAAS) is a private not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to provid free accounting and financial counseling to economically disadvantaged businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations in Connecticut.
Since its formation in 1974, CAAS has offered these services and educational programs, in Connecticut, free of charge, to further rhe development and economic well being of small businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations.
CAAS is affiliated with the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) and the Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF)

TYPES OF ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
Through CAAS, volunteer CPAs assit qualified client in:
    *Education and training in accounting, internal control and financial management subjects,-.
    *Sales, payroll and property tax return preparation.
    *Preparation of business and individual tax returns.
    *Analysis and evaluation of accounting systems and procedures.
    *Evaluation of a business for possible purchase.
    *Preparation for financial statements
    *Search for accountants for service on Boards of Directors of not-for-profit organizations
    *CAAS conducts low income tax clinics for eligible clients in partnership with local organizations.
